Shliach Speaks at Embassy Opening

The United States embassy was moved to Jerusalem today in a momentous event with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner in attendance; Five Towns Shliach Rabbi Zalman Wolowik spoke.

Sixty-nine years after Israel declared Jerusalem as its capital, and 23 years after the US Congress passed a law mandating that Washington move its embassy there, the US formally opened its embassy in the city on Monday at 4 p.m., in a move Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared as momentous.

President Donald Trump is making history, Netanyahu said Sunday at a reception in the Foreign Ministry attended by Trumps daughter, Ivanka Trump, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who are leading the US delegation to the embassy opening. We are deeply grateful, and our people will be eternally grateful, for his bold decision.

Netanyahu said Trumps decision reflects a simple truth: Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for the past 3,000 years, has been the capital of our state for the past 70 years, and will remain our capital for all time.

In addition to Kushner and Ivanka Trump, the US delegation also included Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt.

Among the speakers at the event was Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, Chabad Shliach in the Five Towns, who is a long-time personal friend of US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

Rabbi Wolowik and his wife Chanie Wolowik accompanied Ambassador Friedman and his wife Tammy Friedman on a tour of Israeli sites last March.

The frierdiker rebbe said that when they accepted the state of Israel it pushed off moshiach 50 years, who said this is a good thing?

The frierdiker rebbe didn't say about the acceptance of the state that it pushed off moshiach, rather it was about the idea of . On the other hand, after the state exists, the rebbe held that we have to do everyting to keep it (not ) because it is and to try to put in it as much yidishkeit as possible.

Yes it's true that the previous Rebbe said so.we must however look at the situation as it is. The Rebbe spoke publicly aswell as privately that Eretz Yisroel must have a strong army and that will scare their enemies. Their is also a halacha about strengthening the boarder cities and protecting them even on shabbos. The recognition of yerushalim by the us when it is not a clear understanding by the nation's of the world is a move of protecting our boarders which protects the lives of the Hidden living there.nwe celebrate and cherish life, so yes.this is something to be excited about. The Rebbe wasn't about fighting the yidden who want to live in e.y. , that is our right to do so. It's about filling all jews with Torah so that living in e.y. has true meaning. And absolutely protect the Hidden who are living there because a Jew ish body /life a precious regardless of the way the person is living. Moshiach now!

BH Very important
To understand the difference between self recognition and world recognition . as far as the world recognizing , this so far seems great that the world recognize yerusholiam is ours . but for ourselves we the Jewish people / the government of Israel must know that its ours not because the USA decided to put the embassy there or the UN will or will not vote to agree etc . that it is ours. Am Yisroel is a nation that is apart .it is not because others recognize or do not recognize that makes eretz Yisroel ours it is a Gd given right ! This is very important ! Yes its nice to have friends but we need to make clear that its just that and nothing more .we have our own say in our own destiny that is decided by Hashem alone .the Rebbe was very much into "goan Yakov " Jewish pride. Only time will tell if this is all a display of Jewish pride and belief Hashem gave us the land or another grovelling to "ma yomru hagoim " what do the goyim say about us and saying meekly, Bh we got the "world" on our side. Think , what if one day the usa says , we changed our mind ..we r pulling our emvassy out ...does does thay mean we lost our right ?!? it is brought in navi that there will be a war over yershliam before Moshiach comes perhaps this is the war and iyh it will be fought over politically with words doing the war and not chas vsholom .... Think a minute , a coin was minted for this event with a picture of koresh the king of persia and trump on it , comparing trump to koresh ...do u know what happened to the bais hamikdash koresh allowed to be built ? Do u know later there where issues and changes ?? Do u know that it was not a complete geula and the Jewish people where then only a vassel state of another empire ?? Hopefully Moshiach will come soon and we all experience a real geula ...that is forever and yerushlaim will be rebuild bemes even if this is a good thing at present .amen

The Rebbe Rashab is the one who said it would delay the redemption 50 years. That has already happened. This doesnt contradict what we are doing now.

Can someone who knows the facts please explain what the Frierdike Rebbe said about Eretz Yisroel and the Rebbe's views on Zionism. There seems to be a lot of confusion. I would love some facts. Thank you!

If you learn the Rebbes sichas from NUN Aleph nun Beis, you will see how the Rebbe predicts the times right before Geulah when the nations of the world will recognize the sovereignty of G-d and the land of eretz Israel, bifrat Yerusholayim to belong to Am Yisroel. Whilst today's event might have been connected and decorated to look like Zionism it was much more than that it is Nevuos of the Rebbe coming to life. It was watched by the entire world friends and mostly enemies of the Jewish people.
Moshiach Now!!!!

To #3,9,12, 19 etc. Clarification?
If I recall correctly, it wasn't the FR or the Rashab that said this, it was the Rebbe in a meeting with the Shulzinger brothers - the major publishers of seforim at the time - around 1949/50. They used to print the FR's writings and also the Lubavitch calendars in the early years. They had sent in a draft of the calendar for the new year, and had marked hei iyar as 'yom ha'atzamut'. When R' Hodakov gave it back to them, the pencil writing on that date had been so thoroughly erased that it wasn't even visible that anything had ever been written there. The brothers were staunch Zionists and were very upset about this, so they requested a meeting with the Rebbe to discuss the issue. Apparently the first half of the meeting was in regular tone and not audible outside the room. However midway through the meeting the Rebbe was very upset about whatever they had said, and responded that this had pushed off the geulah 50 years! This was apparently loud enough that people in the zal upstairs heard it. I'm not sure how long the relationship with Shulzinger Bros. lasted after that.
From the sichos over the next 30 years it would seem very likely that what the Rebbe objected to most strongly was any idea that 1948 was in any way 'aschalta digeula' and not necessarily the founding of the state itself.
